Introductory Mentorship Visit

On the first day of planting your vegetable garden, there is a lot to think about! During your Introductory Mentorship Visit we will take all the time we need to address the many things that need to be considered when planting a garden for the first time.

We will begin by talking about the big picture of where we are in the seasonal cycle of gardening and what your vegetables are going to need in order to be strong and productive in the months and years ahead. Then we will dive into the specifics of planting your first vegetables and get your garden off to a strong start.

We will bring all of the seeds and vegetable starts for a given day and work with you one-on-one as we plant each vegetable in your garden, talking about where it will be planted, how to plant it, and what to keep in mind as your garden grows to maturity

We will discuss: proper spacing, seasonality, watering methods, harvest methods, fertility needs, pest and disease considerations, and more!  If we have created a seasonal planting plan for your garden, this will also be an opportunity to learn how to carry out your plan and get the most out of your garden in the season to come.
